Since Q4/18′ virtuality.fashion offers a new, production oriented, 3D virtual prototyping service (Production Track).
This new service completes the solutions’ portfolio introduced late 2015 including the Sales Track, which is based on artistic 3D simulation, supporting marketing and sales needs thanks to its fast turnaround time and minimal input materials’ requirement.
In this example the client, an apparel production centre supplying uniforms and tech-wear to Israel Defence Forces (IDF), was spending time on producing physical samples with the intention to adapt the style of an iconic lady soldiers’ shirt to new requirements set by the army (end-user).
The input into the Production Track were some actual product images and current production DXF generated on client’s 2D CAD platform. The DXF was suppose to be adapted to new fit standards.
First step was recommending base body measurements as the end-user and the client did not have a standard measurements’ chart for this product.
Next, our team simulated the existing product on a virtual mannequin based on the recommended size map, obviously the fit was not correct. Fit was simulated by a senior master pattern maker. We wanted to get as close to reality as possible:
To support the initial fit assessment, the team is comparing to actual product pics:
The client is using virtuality.fashion’s online collaborative platform to feed back their request for new revisions after they edit the DXF based on the fit assessment 3D presentations. Ideally DXF edits should be done by the client as they are closer to production and wish to have control on the 2D files, alternatively virtuality.fashion team can edit the DXF and generate pre-production 2D files.
The result is new, improved fit, for the client to approve. The new fit is based on revised DXF file which then can be prepared for production of the new style.
The fit is presented as “3D Virtual Prototype” on virtuality.fashion’s online portal:
Once both end-user (The IDF) and the client (Apparel Producer) agree that the fit is approved, final, High Resolution, full color 3D presentation can be rendered and hosted on virtuality.fashion’s Virtual Showroom for the client to share with the end-user, and the IDF to share internally.

To summarise:
- This workflow saves time: product approved for production in 2-3 working days rather than months.
- The generic nature of the workflow allows for different 2D/3D platforms to be utilised. It does not matter which 2D CAD the client is using or if they use 3D, virtuality.fashion is offering support to a wide range of platforms, in addition to artistic software solutions with the intention to generate hyper-realistic 3D presentation.
- Full synchronisation between production files and 3D.
- Optimal match between digitally approved 3D and production.
